Chicago traffic: I-55 wrong-way driver crashes on Stevenson Expy. near Halsted Street in Brideport, the ISP says

CHICAGO (WLS) — Several vehicles crashed on the south side of the city after a wrong-way driver sped down I-55.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes of Stevenson Expressway near Halsted Street in the Bridgeport neighborhood.

Illinois State Police said the crash happened around 3:45 a.m

Three vehicles were involved in the accident. Southbound lanes of I-55 were closed for about an hour. All lanes were reopened by 5am

The video shows a dark-colored sedan and a Honda minivan towed to the scene.

ISP said there were injuries, but did not say to what extent.

ISP did not say if anyone was arrested.
