Temperatures are starting to cool in Arizona

PHOENIX (AZ Family)— The high in Phoenix was 100 degrees Saturday, setting another record for daytime high temperatures.

The previous record was 98 degrees, set in 2001. This makes it the 143rd day this year with a temperature of 100 degrees or warmer in Phoenix, very close to the previous record of 145 days in 2020 .

The last 100-degree day Phoenix ever had was October 27, 2016.

The ridge of high pressure dominating the weather pattern will keep temperatures above normal in the 90s through Monday. The seven-day forecast has good news.

A trough of low pressure will bring windy conditions and cooler temperatures to the region by midweek. We will drop from 91 degrees on Monday to the upper 70s on Tuesday!

Moisture with this system is lacking, but we could see a chance for light showers Tuesday morning over the higher terrain of the state north and east of Phoenix. Temperatures will rise slightly into the 80s by Thursday and into the weekend.

The Halloween forecast looks beautiful: highs of 81 degrees in Phoenix and overnight lows in the 50s!
