43-year-old man accused of stealing safe from New Castle Residence

Jerry Montgomery, of Hackensack, NJ was arrested on Thursday, October 24th in connection with a burglary that occurred at a residence in New Castle, New Castle Police announced on Friday, October 25th.

According to the department, Montgomery entered a residence and took “various items, including a safe.” Police did not specify the exact location of the burglary.

Following an investigation into the incident, Montgomery was arrested and charged with:

  • second degree burglary;
  • Grand theft in the third degree;
  • Criminal mischief in the second degree.

After his arrest, Montgomery was arraigned and arraigned Friday in New Castle Justice Court. He was then remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bond and scheduled to return to court on Thursday, November 21 at 7:00 p.m.
