Jake Tapper Trolls Claimed Outrage From GOP Leaders Because Harris Called Trump A Fascist

CNN’s Jake Tapper brought up the receipts after House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell lamented that Kamala Harris is “normalizing violence” with her language about Trump. Tapper can get on my nerves sometimes, but this was perfect.

On Friday, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) issued a joint statement weighing in on Vice President Kamala Harris‘ characterization of former President Donald trump card as “fascist”. CNN host Jake Tapper had nothing on his show Friday.

As Hill reportedboth Johnson and McConnell suggested that Harris calling his opponent a fascist could invite more political violence ahead of the November election. The two Republican congressional leaders said it was important not to “allow this violence to become normalized,” referring to the July incident in which an alleged assassin narrowly missed Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania and a September incident in which a man was seen with a rifle. at Trump’s golf course in Florida.

“In the weeks since that second reminder, the Democratic nominee for president of the United States has only stoked the flames under a hot cauldron of political animosity,” Johnson and McConnell wrote, “Her latest and most reckless invocations of the darkest evil of the 20th century seem to dare to overturn.”

Tapper continued to blast Republican leaders with a video of Trump calling Harris a fascist over and over again.

TAPPER: Okay, so the two Republican leaders who are expressing concern that Kamala Harris is calling Donald Trump a fascist. Let’s show an example where Harris did exactly what McConnell and Johnson objected to.

TRUMP: She’s Marxist, Communist, Fascist, Socialist.

TAPPER: Sorry, control room, actually Donald Trump called Kamala Harris a fascist in September. Control room, are you ready? Please play the clip of Kamala Harris calling Donald Trump a fascist, which offended Republican leaders.

TRUMP: Somebody needs to explain this, this is a racial left, Marxist, fascist communist.

TAPPER: Okay, again, I’m sorry, Trump called Harris a fascist, I apologize. Control room. Can we take it together? Johnson and McConnell are very angry that Kamala Harris called Donald Trump a fascist. Please play the clip.

TRUMP: We’re running a fascist who’s incompetent and we’ve got a president who’s not even around.

TAPPER: Guys, I’m trying to show the clip of Donald Trump being called a fascist. That’s what Speaker Johnson and Leader McConnell are really worried about. Keep running different clips of Trump calling her a fascist. Please humor me.

At Trump’s ex Chief of Staff John Kelly calls Trump a fascist and Tapper reading a quote from Mark Milley calling Trump a fascistand then finally Harris agreed with them.

TAPPER: Thank you. My control cam goes a little rogue there and can make a point. This is obviously what Mike Johnson and Mitch McConnell are worried about. Kamala Harris agrees with the words of some of the people who worked closely with Trump in the Oval Office and in the situation room.

That’s what they have a problem with, not Trump using the same words.

It was nice to see them go down with a joke. It doesn’t happen often enough.
