Vijay hints at TVK’s ideologies ahead of the first political conference

Actor-turned-politician Vijay will hold the first political conference of his new party – Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) on Sunday, October 27 at V Salai, a village near Vikkravandi in Villupuram district. The actor had earlier told his party members that he would announce the party’s ideologies at this conference. Vijay is also expected to contest the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly polls.

Arrangements for the conference are underway and the actor expects two thousand people to attend. On 14 August, TNM’s political newsletter Powertrip said Vijay planned to hold the conference as a show of strength, inviting thousands of supporters ahead of the 2026 elections.

Although the actor’s political ideologies are unknown, cutouts of Periyar, BR Ambedkar and K Kamarajar were spotted at the conference venue. The actor had earlier also mentioned the names of these leaders while speaking at an event organized by the fan association in June 2023 to facilitate Class 12 in Tamil Nadu. He urged the students to read these believers.

In addition to these names, a clipping of Queen Sivagangai Velu Nachiyar, who is the first queen to wage war against the East India Company in 1780, and Anajalai Ammal, who participated in the freedom struggle and was named “Jhansi from South India”. Rani’ by MK Gandhi, were also spotted at the conference venue.

It should be noted that the actor also announced his retirement from cinema after the completion of his last project’Talapaty 69.’ In February 2024, ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, he registered his party with the Election Commission of India (ECI). In August, the party’s red and yellow striped flag was also unveiled, featuring the Vaagai flower (Albizia Julibrissin) flanked by two elephants as its central motif.
