Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred patch improves Legion events and fixes frustrations

Next Diablo 4 Vessel of Hate the patch notes are here and they are quite long. The ARPG’s latest update focuses mainly on fixes, with some of the bigger frustrations addressed alongside some welcome changes for recurring annoyances like the constant flood of gem shards. Along with these come improvements to the Legion and Kurast Undercity events as Blizzard sets the table ahead of its mid-season patch for Diablo 4 Season 6. There’s a lot to do, so here are the most important changes.

The new Diablo 4 The Vessel of Hatred patch notes include a lot of bug fixes, but there are a few key points to pick out among them. First, two major annoyances have been fixed. The cap on Gem Shards has been “significantly increased”, which should prevent you from ending up with them lying all over the floor, uncollectable. The damage required to knock you off your mount has also been increased, meaning you’ll be less likely to be forcibly dismounted while riding in RPGhis endgame.

The Kurast Undercity has seen some of the biggest improvements. Portal Prankster valuable chests are now affected by the active fair for that race. Offers that did not properly guarantee their rewards should now do so, and you will no longer be able to jump to the end of an Undercity race and claim its rewards without participating. Also fixed a powerful exploit that allows you to repeatedly trade picked gems for extra benefits during gear locked content.

The Legion events, which felt a bit left in the dust during Ship of Hate, will now give you bonus loot and Zakarum Remnant reputation from your active opals upon completion, making them more valuable. However, Realmwalkers will be a bit slower to take down as their health has doubled and you’ll see an extra wave of Bloodborne Guardians spawn during a single encounter. Blizzard also fixed an issue that made it difficult to attack Guardians with some melee builds.

In terms of balance, there are a few fixes to see. Druid’s Shred should now correctly target enemies, Necromancer’s Reaping Lotus skin will now work with Sever’s chance to deal double damage affix, and Rogues won’t mysteriously lose Dance of Knives charges unexpectedly.

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred - A player defeats the Ice Beast in the Glacial Fissure.

Rounding out the most notable updates is a much-needed fix for the Glacial Fissure bug, which could cause Beast in the Ice to not spawn if you try to respawn too quickly, wasting your valuable Distilled Fear. If you’re using a Necromancer with Blood Spear, Bone Storm, Corpse Blast, or Severus, or a Sorcerer with Incineration or Teleport, you’ll be pleased to know that you can now properly get the larger powerful affixes to appear in their respective “Chance as Ability to do double damage”.

Diablo 4 patch 2.0.4 arrives on Tuesday, October 29th. Notably, despite a few bug fixes for Spiritborn, there isn’t change in this update for bug interactions most responsible for class dominance in Season 6. Blizzard is likely still thinking if he wants to leave them as they are while he prepares the mid-season patch notes, which will ship with another live stream for developers to go over the changes.
