The Jewish Cultural and Food Festival is scheduled for November 3rd

• The 24th annual Jewish Food and Culture Festival will be held at Reform Congregation Oheb Sholom, 555 Warwick Drive, Wyomissing, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Nov. 3. What’s available: An extensive menu that includes Jewish apple pie and additional desserts, brisket and chicken platters, corned beef and pastrami sandwiches, bagel and lox platters, hot dogs, knishes and matzo ball soup. Tongue and kugel (noodle pudding) are back on the menu this year. Guests can dine in the festival’s dining areas or bring their own food. There is no entrance fee. Order in advance at ohebsholom.org or pay at the entrance. Cash is accepted, but credit cards are preferred. Cultural rooms offer children and adults the chance to learn about Jewish religion and culture through traditional objects. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions. Tour the sanctuary with Rabbi Brian Michelson, learn about the traditions of Judaism and hear the blowing of the Shofar. Cantor Stuart Binder will perform traditional and contemporary Jewish music in the sanctuary.

• Sunday is the culmination of a yearlong celebration for the 250th anniversary of Zion Spies Lutheran Church, 310 Spies Church Road, Alsace Township. There will be a special service with Bishop Chris DeForest of the Northeastern Pennsylvania ELCA Synod followed by a luncheon.

• Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Ave., Exeter Township, will wrap up its yearlong 75th anniversary celebration with hybrid worship at 9:30 a.m. on Reformation Sunday. The Rev. Dr. D. Michael Bennethum, Reformed pastor from 1993-2005 and retired assistant bishop of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA, will be the guest speaker. Music will be provided by an ensemble of brass, timpani, bell and vocal choirs, all under the direction of Dr. Heidi Rochlin, church musician. The Rev. Paul Metzloff, pastor, will preside over the service, which will include the dedication of the church’s new sanctuary windows. A reception will follow in the parish hall.

• Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, 340 Moselem Church Road, Richmond Township, will hold a 290th community celebration today from noon to 5 p.m., rain or shine, under the big white tent. Inside the church there will be a historical exhibition. There will be food tricks and live music by Scott Marshall and Highway Souls. There will also be children’s activities and classic cars on display.

• One United Church of Christ, 1730 New Holland Road, Kenhorst, will hold its annual bazaar next Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The bazaar will feature a variety of vendors, gift basket raffle, homemade food, church made apple dumplings, cookies and church made candy for sale.

• Trinity United Church of Christ, 2449 Cumberland Ave., Mount Penn, will hold its fifth annual Stop and Shop event next Sunday, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be crafts, vendors and raffle baskets, and food will be available for purchase.

• Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Douglass Township, Montgomery County, will hold coffee and conversation in the Welcome Center on Sunday at 8:30 and 10 a.m.

• Church of St. John’s Gernant (A Federated Congregation), 13 Gernant’s Church Road, Ontelanuee Township, will worship Sunday at 9:30 am in Memorial Hall. It will be Jingle Sunday when loose coins will be collected to be used for the mission program to help the needy.

• St. John’s Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, will hold a day and night of prayer, Pray, Fast, Vote, on Wednesday. The church sanctuary will be open during the afternoon for individual prayer, and at 7:00 p.m. a corporate prayer service focused on the upcoming election will begin. . In addition to dozens of baskets and larger raffle prizes, food and baked goods will be for sale. Parking is in the main park behind the church or across the street at the corner of Penn Avenue. and South Hull Street.

• Robesonia United Church of Christ, 301 W. Penn Ave., has scheduled the following events: During the Reformation Sunday worship service at 10:15 a.m., Bibles will be presented to Sunday school students, the Sunday school will sing two songs and the bells will ring; Bible study via Zoom will take place on Tuesday at 9:00 am. A free community meal, Sup ‘n’ Such, will be held Thursday from 4-6 p.m. The free children’s clothing closet will be open at the same time. • St. John’s Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown, will offer a free take-out meal today from 4:30-5:30, no registration required. Vox Philia will present a free concert choir tonight at 7pm

• Calvary United Church of Christ, 640 Center Ave., Reading, welcomes the Rev. Steve Ohnsman on Sundays at 8 and 10:30 a.m. The monthly faith forum will be held at 9 a.m.

• The United Church of Christ the Good Shepherd, 170 Tuckerton Road, Muhlenberg Township, will hold a chest or treat today from 6-8 pm in the parking lot. During the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Stewardship Sunday, Cindy Miller Aungst will accompany the choir on drums.

• Rev. Jeanean Speck returns to Salem Lutheran Church, 8410 Lancaster Ave., Bethel Township, for the 9:30 a.m. worship service. The service is followed by an hour of socializing in the multipurpose room.
