Harris will address climate change head-on

Hurricane Helene in the South and last winter’s disastrous storms in Maine highlight the stark contrast between our two presidential candidates. In the US today, most of us recognize that the increasing intensity of severe weather events is real and is caused by our use of polluting fossil fuels.

Kamala Harris advocates a transition to solar, wind and other non-polluting renewable energy sources. Her opponent advocates the use of fossil fuels, a recipe for more destructive weather.

Helene’s incredible strength shows us what severe weather really means. Many of the lives of our neighbors to the south are being completely upended by the unprecedented flooding and resulting damage. Recovery from events like these will take years and cost billions.

A vote for Kamala Harris will bring more renewable energy, more stable weather patterns and a better future. It is the best gift I can think of for my nieces.
