A masked double steals a delivery driver’s car in a late-night robbery in Launceston

A delivery driver has been left shaken after two young men, one allegedly armed with a knife, stole his vehicle in Launceston overnight.

The incident took place on Abbott Street in East Launceston at around 11pm on Friday.

Police said the pair approached the male driver while he was working for a food delivery service.

The offenders, both described as wearing dark clothing and face masks, then stole the delivery driver’s black Honda Jazz.

One of the young men was reportedly wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a black face mask with a design on the front.

The stolen car has since been found.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information that could help them in their investigation to locate the pair to come forward.
