The national prescription drug take-back is scheduled for Saturday

MONROE, La. (KNOE) – The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is hosting its 27th annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 26th.

The DEA has worked with more than 4,000 law enforcement agencies across the country to remove unwanted drugs from homes.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will be held from 10am to 2pm in ArkLaMiss.

The DEA will collect unused or expired medications at more than 4,100 collection sites across the country.

“Let’s take a proactive step towards a healthier community. By disposing of unused medication tomorrow, you’re not only protecting your family, but your neighbors as well,” said New Orleans Division Special Agent in Charge Steven Hofer. “It’s a simple act that can have a significant impact. We thank our law enforcement and community partners for their invaluable support.”

They will accept medications, patches, liquid products that are stored in their original containers, and devices and vapor cartridges.
