Hartford man accused of robbing Waterbury clothing store at gunpoint

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — A Waterbury man with a criminal record robbed a clothing store at gunpoint, threatened employees and assaulted one of them, according to police.

Jose Rivera-Gonzalez, 52, of Hartford, was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, fifth-degree larceny and criminal possession of a firearm/ammunition. He is being held on a $75,000 bond.

Police said he robbed Snipes on Oct. 15. He was arrested after his home was searched on Wednesday and officers found evidence linking him to the murder.

He was previously accused of robbery, kidnapping and more. He was also accused of robbing a bank in Waterbury in 2013.
