Three arrested for theft and arson. Incident in the north of Rapid

RAPID CITY, SD — Three men were arrested Thursday night just after 7pm after police responded to a burglary in progress on Wood Avenue between Anamosa St and College Ave.

Upon arrival, police officers discovered a broken window and a fire inside the home. Shortly thereafter, three male suspects were seen fleeing the home through the broken window. They were taken into custody and identified as Colin Whiting, Julian Wright and Carlito Jumping Eagle, all 18 years old and from Rapid City.

Rapid City Firefighters arrived and quickly extinguished the fire. Following an investigation, all three men were arrested and charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree arson. They were then transported to the Pennington County Jail.
