The Knoxville Fire Department rescues a man stuck in a tree

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Knoxville Fire Department said it rescued a man stuck in a tree Saturday afternoon.

KFD said crews responded to Vermont Avenue shortly before 2 p.m. and found a man about 30 feet up in a tree.

Within an hour of receiving the call, KFD said the man was safely brought to the ground. Although he initially appeared injured, he refused medical attention.

“A critical piece of the puzzle in removing the male from the tree was the technical expertise of the KFD on-scene crew and the KFD shovel truck,” KFD said.

Without the truck, KFD said the man likely would have been stuck in the tree for an extended period of time.
