4 charged after search turns up shotgun and drugs on 6th Street: DA

Four Bakersfield residents were arrested Thursday after investigators said they found a shotgun, fentanyl, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at a home on 6th Street.

On Oct. 10, Kern County District Attorney investigators and a special agent from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation served a search warrant in the 1200 block of 6th Street near downtown Bakersfield.

They said they found a loaded, sawed-off shotgun, drugs, a scale, cash and paraphernalia.

Juan Diaz, 26, Herminia Carrillo, 40, Armando Martínez, 32, and Anthony Martínez, 33, were arrested on multiple weapons and narcotics charges, and unrelated warrants.

“Successful searches like these are part of ongoing efforts to disrupt dangerous cycles of crime in our community. By removing illegal guns and narcotics from our streets, we are not only preventing the immediate threat of violence, but we are also addressing the root causes that often escalate into more extreme criminal activity,” stated Kern DA Cynthia Zimmer.
