In Geneva, the Jet d’eau à l’arrêt pour more than a month

Le Jet d’eau was mis à l’arrêt pendant cinq semaines. As every year, the Services industriels de Genève (SIG) must carry out the work to guarantee the proper functioning of the Geneva symbol. These will start on Monday. It concerns, in particular, the maintenance of the valves, pumps, motors or external lighting encore, says a statement.

This year, the two pipelines used to bring water from the lake to the pumps that propel it into the air will be renovated. They date from 1951, the year the pumping station was built. The remise en marche du Jet d’eau is scheduled for December 4, subject to weather conditions.
