As with many of his various statements, revelations, claims, quips and quips, we really can’t be sure if Donald Trump intended to announce that his daughter, Tiffany Trump, is expecting her first child. However, he announced it. Addressing the crowd at the Detroit Economic Club, the former president (and current Republican candidate for November’s election) seemed to notice in the crowd Dr. Massad Boulos, the father of Tiffany’s husband, Michael Boulos. Trump’s talk then took a turn, veering from the financial discourse to the “very exceptional” young couple.

Then the news, “She’s going to have a baby, so it’s good.” And so, a new Trump is on the way. When Tiffany, who is the only child of Trump and his second wife, Marla Maples, welcomes their new son, he will become the 45th president’s 11th grandchild. His eldest children from his marriage to Ivana Trump, Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric, have five, three and two children respectively.

Add to that Trump’s youngest son Baron (who recently enrolled at NYU and has begun rounding up far-right commentators for his father in Mar-a-Largo), as well as a swathe of politically active spouses, and the Trump family seem to have a future conquest in mind. Just ask his former campaign manager, Brad Parscale, who told a California Republican Party convention in 2019 that “the Trumps will be a dynasty that will last for decades.”
