Traudt, a native of Grand Island, is hoping for a jump in his second season with Creighton men’s basketball

OMAHA, Neb. (KSNB) – Grand Island native and high school senior Isaac Traudt enters his second season at Creighton after transferring to the program before last year following a redshirt campaign at Virginia. Expectations are high for his second season with the Bluejays and third in college basketball.

But more than anything, Traudt said he’s glad to be back in his home state during Creighton’s media day.

“I love it,” she said. “I’ve been happy with it every day that I’ve been back, so I have no regrets at all. I’m very happy where I am.”

Traudt made two starts and played in 31 games for the Bluejays as a redshirt freshman. He said he’s down about 20 pounds and feels more like his old self on the floor as he fights to increase his minutes in the rotation.

“We see that we have some roles to fill and we have some really good guys,” Traudt said. “I think we have a really good team and a lot of guys who can fight for different spots.”

Creighton was picked to finish second in the Big East preseason poll behind two-time defending national champion UConn. They are scheduled to open the season against Purdue on Oct. 26.
