Shocking video shows a group of Tennessee police officers brutally beating a man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend at a charity walk.

Jackson Hopper, 26, was accused of shooting Ellie Young, 22, inside his Jeep after participating in the breast cancer awareness walk at Shelby Farms Park in Memphis, Tennessee.

Hopper led police on a multi-county chase until his car was overturned in a PIT maneuver.

He was seen dragged out of his car and then brutally beaten for about 30 seconds in a video captured on a bystander’s cellphone.

Sheriff Brian Kelley of the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office shared a public notice on Facebook referring to the footage and saying an internal affairs investigation will be conducted.

Kelley stated that any misconduct by the officer will be investigated by reviewing cameras, reports, witness statements and “any other available resources.”

He also added that the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office “never condones staff misconduct” but “understands that all sources of information must be evaluated before conclusions are drawn.”

Hopper allegedly pulled up behind Young’s parked car and fired two shots into her vehicle before firing another bullet as she lay on the ground where she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Young’s family had told Action News 5 that she and Hopper had recently broken up.

Hopper faces charges of reckless driving, aggravated assault, driving on roadway into traffic, speeding over 21 over speed limit, resisting arrest, disregarding stop sign, file report false, reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm in the commission of dangerous acts. felony and felony evading arrest.

“What he did was really terrible. I can’t defend him. But people online say he was this violent person, and I mean that’s not true.

Young’s sorority sister Danni Fewell recalled her as “kind” and “genuine.”

He told Action News 5, “She was passionate, determined and selfless. The joy she brought to every room was contagious to everyone around her.

“Her bright future was a doctor, it was something I looked forward to ever since I met her.”

A GoFundMe has been started for the medical student’s funeral expenses.
