Love Is Blind’s Ramses rejected Marissa’s plea to get back together

Six months later love is blind stars Marissa George i Ramses Prashad called it quits, they started communicating again, but a second round of romance wasn’t in the cards.

“We saw each other a few times after (we broke up). I took the breakup really hard, as you can imagine from the scene where I cried and all that,” Marissa, 32, said. Glamour in an interview published on Wednesday, October 23. “It probably took me six months to get back on track and really start making progress.”

She added: “I saw him a few times when I was in DC, and there was a time when we talked one day for 8 and a half (or) 9 hours on the phone, and I thought we’d get back together after this.”

Marissa and Ramsès, 35 years old, got engaged during love is blind season 7, which was filmed in October 2023 and began streaming on Netflix earlier this month. Marissa and Ramses seemed to have an effortless connection, until there were a few differences of opinion later on. Ramses had a strong distaste for military veterans like Marissa, and refused to have sex with a condom or while menstruating.

In episode 11, Ramses expressed his reluctance to walk down the aisle. The next episode began with Ramses canceling their wedding plans. Marissa visibly cried when Ramses broke up with her, claiming she felt blind.

According to Marissa, Ramses’ behavior changed after he met with a family friend two days before the breakup. The acquaintance also remained close with his ex-wife, who was scheduled to marry the same month. That meeting led Ramses to realize that the divorce had hurt his former partner a lot.

After Marissa started moving on, she and Ramses began talking regularly over phone calls.

“In February or March, I asked him if he wanted to get back together,” Marissa said. “I’m not ashamed to say that because I’m someone who says, ‘If you feel it, you feel it, like, what’s the worst that can happen?’ And he said, “No.” So after that, we stopped communicating.”

Marissa further stated on the network that she still does not have adequate clarity on what happened to make Ramses abruptly cancel their wedding.

“Throughout the breakup, which made it worse, he really couldn’t give me a reason. To this day, I don’t know if he really has a good reason,” Marissa said. Glamour. “I think he’s tried to pinpoint certain things, because I listen to podcasts in the morning and sing things like that in the shower. But at the time of the breakup, he said, “I don’t feel at peace anymore, and I feel like our energies they are out and i will hurt you in five years but i love you and i want to be with you. you, but this is moving too fast’”.

He also tried to find a middle ground that didn’t end in total heartbreak.

“I’m like, ‘OK, well, let’s not move quickly. You stay in DC, I stay in Baltimore. But stay together,’” Marissa, who is currently studying law, told the magazine. “And he said, ‘No.’ And that’s really hard to understand: How do you supposedly love this person so much and they don’t even want to be with you? Then I’m thinking, it’s me, because he says it’s my energy.”

She added: “I offered not to get married. We can stay engaged, or we can do everything on our own timeline. We don’t have to move in right away. That was never the plan at all ways. We don’t have to be engaged until now. It was a hard no and that’s what really broke me.”

Ramses, who shot down Marissa’s attempts at reconciliation, made her “really question everything (she) believed in.”

Marissa and Ramsès will meet again face to face in the love is blind meeting, which will air on Netflix on Wednesday, October 30 at 9pm ET.
