A West Virginia court of appeals affirmed in part the circuit court’s grant of summary judgment to the former tenured faculty of Wheeling Jesuit Univ., Inc. who alleged a breach of contract when the university refused to renew his employment for the 2019-2020 academic year due to a financial exigency. where tenured professors were entitled to continuing appointments under the faculty handbook, and financial exigency was not a “for cause” reason for dismissal that precluded them from receiving term appointments.
