Influencer Cecily Bauchmann has spoken out after Disney’s trip in the middle of Hurricane Milton

Disney on disaster.

Cecily Bauchmann apologizes after revealing she was going to Disney World as others prepared for Hurricane Milton.

Earlier this week, the influencer posted a now-deleted video highlighting her packing process for a family trip to Florida. In the clip, the mother-of-four explained that they had to head to the airport in just one hour even as the southern state braced for the deadly storm.

On Thursday, after days of backlash, the creator took to her TikTok and Instagram stories to share that she had left the trip and apologized to followers.

“Hey guys, I wanted to make a video of my last video before I leave to go to Florida and explain everything,” Bauchmann began. “My family is no longer in Florida. We are now in Nashville and we left Florida once evacuation orders were issued. We had planned this trip to go to Florida for fall break.”

“We had called our hotel and were advised that it was still under an aerial flood watch and that wherever we were, we would be fine,” he continued.

The influencer took a moment to reflect on his decision and admitted that he wasn’t fully aware of what was to come with Milton.

“That decision, do I regret it? Absolutely,” Bauchmann continued. “I’m very naive about how storms develop and how quickly they can develop. Looking back, that’s one thing I wish I could change. This storm quickly became a major hurricane 5 and NASA declared it the fastest-moving hurricane on record.”

Bauchmann shares children Capri, 10, James, 9, Gracie, 6, and Jackson, 4, with husband Sam Bauchmann.

Cecily noted that once the storm was declared a Category 5 hurricane, her family decided to evacuate. Touching on the devastation that Hurricane Milton is causing to people and their families, he revealed that he is now investing in supporting relief organizations.

In a follow-up Instagram story, she posted a link to resources for followers.

“This is something I will support and continue to monitor,” he concluded. “I couldn’t go on with life without posting this video. Hurricane Milton is weighing on my heart right now, and will continue to be. Thanks for watching. I love you guys.”

Critics slammed the influencer mercilessly when he initially revealed his plans for the Happiest Place on Earth.

“I just had to go through Helene and there’s no way I’m putting my kids in the direct path of a hurricane. Especially not this one,” someone responded at the time.

“DO BETTER Influencers going to Disney despite Hurricane Milton absolutely about to hit Florida,” a second person noted, while a third wrote that they had “lost all” respect for her.

After her apology, however, some supported her.

One person shared his own video: “I feel like his apology was genuine and he probably really regrets the decision he made because of the public humiliation he got. He probably still feels bad about people losing their homes, like who couldn’t?

Another social media user said in a clip: “I commend them for addressing this and explaining their intentions. I don’t think they had anything but good intentions. I admire them for taking this situation and using it to shed light and raise money for hurricane victims and relief efforts.”

Rounding out the support for Bauchmann, one TikTokker posted: “I don’t think they should be canceled. I think when you’re in the public eye and something you say or do isn’t received well, you should be held accountable and addressed -ho”.
