ISLAMABAD:

Electricity consumers are likely to get Rs 0.70 per unit due to the Fuel Charge Adjustment (FCA) by September 2024.

The Central Guaranteed Power Purchase Agency (CPPA-G) has asked for a negative adjustment of Rs0. 70 per unit in FCA of nightclubs by September 2024. DISCOs are likely to refund Rs 8,550 crore to consumers.

NEPRA will hold a public hearing on October 30, 2024 on CPPA-G’s request to adjust club fees.

According to data submitted to NEPRA, hydel generation was recorded at 4,838 GWh, 38.75 percent of the total generation from May to September 2024.

Power generation from local coal-fired power plants was 1,261 GWh in September 2024, which was 10.10 percent of the total generation at a price of Rs 12.2882 per unit, while 1,149 GWh were generated from imported coal at Rs 16.5990 per unit (9.20 percent). ). Generation from HSD was nil, while 39 Gwh was generated at RFO at Rs30.2960 per unit.

Electricity generation from gas-fired power plants was 988 GWh (7.91 percent) at Rs 13.6768 per unit. Generation from RLNG was 2,039 GWh (16.33 percent of total generation) at Rs 24.9570 per unit.

Electricity generation from nuclear sources was 1,596 GWh at Rs 1.5417 per unit (12.78 percent of total generation) and imported electricity from Iran was 40 GWh at 25 .9519 rupees per unit.

Power generated from wind was recorded at 395 GWh, 3.17 percent of total generation, and solar at 105 GWh, 0.84 percent of total generation in September 2024.

The total power generated was recorded at 12,487 GWh at a basket price of Rs8.3380 per unit. The total cost of power was Rs 104,114 crore. However, with the proposed pre-adjustment of Rs 7,505 crore and the sale of electricity to IPPs at (negative Rs 1,402 crore), the net electricity delivered to nightclubs in September 2024 was 12,118 GWh at a rate of Rs 9.0949 per unit, the total price of which was Rs 110.05 billion.
