Middlebury man sentenced to 140 years in prison for child sex abuse

It’s a 140-year prison sentence for a Middlebury man convicted of 10 counts of child abuse and sexual misconduct charges.

Phillip Beachey, 47, was found guilty of molesting a family member over a four-year period, according to The Goshen News.

The victim, who is now of legal age, testified about the abuse, which occurred between 2014 and 2018, starting when she was 10 years old.

The Indiana Department of Child Services was notified in February 2020, after the victim confided in a family member.

Medical records confirmed some previous injuries related to the assault. Beachey has denied the charges and plans to appeal.
