Thai husband forgives wife in monk business scandal

A Thai husband in the Isaan province of Buriram is located willing to forgive his wife after finding out he had one affair with a drug addicted monk. Unfortunately, his wife kicked him out of their home and tried to get the monk out of custody.

The husband, Tone, 31, filed a complaint against Monk Ek, 37, after the monk sent him explicit videos of himself having sex with Tone’s wife. The Lahan Sai Police Station, along with a community leader, raided the temple yesterday, October 21.

Ek admitted to communicating with the married woman but denied sending the videos to Tone. The monk also tested positive for drugs, which led the police to dismiss him and initiate legal proceedings. He was later arrested at the police station.

Channel 7 interviewed Tone following Ek’s arrest yesterday, October 21. Tone claimed that the court proceedings did not improve his relationship with his wife. She threw him out of her house and even accused him of ruining Ek’s life.

Tone added that his wife later disappeared, saying she was going to the police station to rescue Ek. Despite everything, he admitted that he still loved and cared for her, but was willing to let her go if she chose Ek.

Tone revealed that he was always willing to forgive his wife and put the past behind her, but she would have to promise to end her relationship with Ek. He urged her to consider her two children before making any further decisions.

The woman’s mother, Chuay, 64, told media that she only recently found out about the affair between her daughter and the former monk. She expressed her surprise, stating that she never expected her daughter to behave this way. Chuay said she now refrains from going out because of the embarrassment.

Police officers and a village chief raided a monk’s home, leading to the dismissal of two monks to participate drug use, drinking alcohol and having an illicit relationship with the wife of a local man. The raid came after complaints and evidence of inappropriate behavior were received.

The search took place yesterday, October 20, at a temple in Lahan Sai district, Buriram province. Police from Lahan Sai Police Station, along with the village chief, inspected the rooms of two monks in Tatchong sub-district.

Complaints had been made about monks using drugs, alcohol and illicit affairs with villager women, supported by video evidence of sexual activity.

During the raid, police first searched 37-year-old Ek’s quarters. No drugs or drug paraphernalia were found, but a woman’s underwear was discovered hidden in her robe.

In the premises of another monk, Thun, 35, the police also found no drugs or paraphernalia, but bottles of liquor and beer.

After the search, the two monks were subjected to urine tests which tested positive for drugs. They were immediately taken to the abbot to be stripped and then escorted to the police station, where they were charged with drug use and sent to rehab according to legal procedures, KhaoSod reported.

In a confession, former monk Ek admitted to using methamphetamine, claiming he had consumed three pills two days earlier. However, he denied allegations of an affair, claiming he only contacted the woman because she had told him she was separated from her husband. He also denied any knowledge of sending explicit clips to make fun of the woman’s husband.

The woman’s 31-year-old husband shared his ordeal, saying that when he first discovered his wife’s affair with Ek, he claimed she had been coerced by the monk. He forgave her after she promised to stop all contact.

However, she later caught them exchanging messages and learned that they continued to meet in secret, prompting the husband to report and report the incident.
