Fort Bend County Judge Indictment: KP George’s Request to Dismiss Criminal Charges Denied

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — On Monday, a judge declined to dismiss the criminal charges against Fort Bend County Judge KP George.

George is accused of working with his then chief of staff to manufacture hate mail against himself months before his re-election.

A Fort Bend County grand jury indicted him on September 26 for misrepresentation.

After his arraignment, George turned himself in to the sheriff’s office.

His attorney argued that the charge should be dismissed because the Texas Ethics Commission did not rule on the case.

George said he has no plans to quit and will fight to clear his name.
