120 Recommended Candidates for IAS, IFS, IPS Posts

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Friday recommended 120 additional candidates who were on a reserve list for selection in various central civil services, according to the official statement. These applicants passed the 2023 civil service examination, the results of which were announced in April this year.

On 16 April 2024, UPSC CSE Results 2023 were released. Based on the findings, 1,016 applicants have been suggested for appointment to 1,143 posts in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other central agencies.

According to the UPSC statement, the Commission has now recommended 120 candidates — 88 general, five from economically disadvantaged sections, 23 from other backward classes, three from scheduled castes and one from scheduled tribes — to fill the remaining posts based on the results of the exam of civil service from 2023 as requested by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

It also stated that the DoPT will personally notify the candidates who have been so recommended.

According to the press release, the candidacies of the 30 competitors are provisional.
