An Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesperson has stated that the wife of the ex Hamas Leader Yahya Sinwar was seen carrying a Hermès Birkin handbag valued at $32,000 in footage showing Sinwar and his family “running away into a tunnel” the night before the Attack of October 7 about Israel
Footage released by the IDF shows Sinwar and his family carrying equipment and supplies as they escape into a tunnel under their home in Khan Younis.
Lieutenant Colonel in the Arabic language Avichay Adraee commented on the wealth disparity between the ordinary Gaza people and the former Hamas leader and his wife, writing to X: “Sinwar’s wife entered the tunnel with him on October 6, carrying a beloved Birkin bag that cost about $32,000?! I’ll leave the comment to you . While the people of Gaza do not have enough money for a tent or basic necessities, we see many examples of Yahya Sinwar and his wife’s special love for money.”

Sinwar’s wife, identified as Samar Muhammad Abu Zamarshe married the former head of Hamas in 2011 and they have three children together.
IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari released the video on Saturday, saying: “Even on the eve of the brutal massacre, Sinwar was preoccupied with his survival and the survival of his family.”

Hagari added: “Hours before the massacre, Sinwar only cared about himself and his family as he sent terrorists for the murderous attack on Israeli men, women and children.”
Sinwar was killed by Israeli forces in Gaza on Wednesday and Hamas confirmed his death.
