Mark McCall expects a tight derby between Saracens and Harlequins

McCall said new-look Sarries had room for improvement despite brushing aside Exeter to remain the only unbeaten side in the division.

“The last performance we were more consistent throughout than we have been in the first two games,” he said.

“We’re happy with the energy, the drive and the fight in the team. It’s a good sign and a good quality to have in a new team, but there’s a lot of room for improvement in our rugby.

“When you have new people in your club and you’re trying to build partnerships and new relationships, the longer they’re together the better.”

Samoan full-back Theo McFarland is unavailable after suffering concussion at Exeter, but Maro Itoje should start after training with England this week.

Tom Parton and Sam Spink are out for a few weeks, but McCall said there was a chance Ollie Hartley could return well before Christmas as his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury had progressed as planned
