WWC U17: Flamingos star Chidi reacts to opening goal against Ecuador

Harmony Chidi is delighted to open her goal tally for Nigeria’s Flamingos at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

Bankole Olowookere’s side beat Ecuador 4-0 in their second group match on Saturday night.

Chidi scored Nigeria’s second goal of the match in the 54th minute.

The forward also provided the assist for Shakirat Moshood’s fourth goal.

The youngster, who scored 12 goals for Nigeria during the qualifiers, shared his thoughts after the match.

“I am very happy. I don’t know how to express this. It’s a joy for me right now because in the last game, when the goal didn’t come, my coach reassured me,” he told FIFA.com.

“He believes in me so much that I can do it, even when it doesn’t come, so I thank him for that and I bless God for that.”
