Hollywood star has given me the confidence to show off my bump… it’s my best look, says Jorgie Porter

ACTRESS Jorgie Porter has praised pregnant Hollywood star Margot Robbie for giving her the confidence to show off her own baby bump.

The Hollyoaks favourite, who is expecting her second child with fiancé Oliver Piotrowski, is fully embracing this pregnancy after previous miscarriages prevented her from fully enjoying the experience with her first-born.

The 36-year-old star was inspired by Barbie actress Margot, who proudly showed off her baby bump in Italy this summer, and even staged her own photoshoot, with her baby bump taking the leading role.

At her 14-week scan in August 2021, Jorgie discovered she had missed the quadruplets she had conceived naturally and suffered another miscarriage a few months later.

“When I was pregnant with Forest I was so worried and nervous and superstitious. But you can feel it
different, so I just went there!’

This meant she was anxious and had mixed emotions during her pregnancy with her son Forest, who is now 23 months old.

In an exclusive interview, Jorgie said: ‘When I was pregnant with Forest I didn’t celebrate enough.

“When people said, ‘Can we celebrate?’, I said, ‘No, no, no.’

“I wasn’t ready. I wanted to wait until I had my baby in my arms.

“I was nervous and panicked. I was feeling a bit superstitious and really worried, but with this pregnancy everything feels different, so I really did.”

“Looks amazing”

The images of Aussie Margot, 34, who also started her soap career, left a lasting impression on Jorgie, whose baby is due in early December.

She said: “When I was waiting for Forest, there was Rihanna with her bang out.

“And now Margot Robbie is pregnant, I was like, ‘Oh my god, yes!’

“I saw pictures of Margot in a bathing suit looking amazing and other pictures with her belly out.

“When I see these celebrities, I go to their photos and say, ‘What are they wearing?’ How do they make this look so awesome? “

She added: “For this shoot, I just went for it. I ordered the most glamorous pink gown I could find online, and I’m so happy because I think it’s the best thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I really like the pictures.”

On changing her mindset for this pregnancy, Jorgie said: “What I learned is that you really can’t waste every moment in fear, so this time I’m just going to embrace every moment I can.

“I’ve taken a slightly different step this time, doing more, but it’s also gone so fast.”

One thing Jorgie is definitely embracing is her pregnancy breasts.

She said: “Oh my God, they are huge! It’s like I have three breasts, my stomach and my breasts!

“And after nursing, no one tells you, but they got so flat.

“I said, where have they gone? But after a few weeks of being pregnant again, they came back.

“And I love them and fill a bra again. Obviously, they get in the way a little bit; sometimes I can’t breathe, they’re getting in the way. They’re everywhere!

“Ollie says he loves it. He always says, ‘You look beautiful’. He’s very nice about it, but I say, whatever, wait until I get on that fit bike.”

Jorgie, who has played feisty Theresa McQueen in Hollyoaks since 2008, has been with property developer Ollie, 35, for four years.

Their house is full of boys as Ollie also has a nine-year-old son Alfie from a previous relationship.

So Jorgie is delighted to be expecting a baby girl in early December to “bring in a bit of sass”.

He said: “There was a lot of pressure to get a girl. Ollie gets Alfie into football a lot and then Forest enjoys his football too.

“I remember thinking, ‘If I’m going to play soccer for life, it’s going to be crazy. You never know, my girl might like soccer, but I’m really excited for a little bit of sass at home. !

“For me, when there are a lot of guys and you are outnumbered, you have no choice but to accept it.

‘He’s so cute’

“But I’m looking forward to when my girl can support me. Everyone keeps saying she’s going to be a mini-me, but as long as she’s happy and healthy, that’s all that matters.

“I have a feeling he’s going to have brown hair like Ollie because Forest is as fair as I am.”

Although Jorgie has been in a positive space for this pregnancy, she has found it more physically demanding.

She said: “It’s been a lot harder this time – my body has gotten heavier and bigger a lot faster, and holding a child is hard.

“I get into a squat position and I’m like, ‘Argh!’ It’s a lot harder and I think it’s gotten a lot faster.

“I’m like, ‘Is this really happening?’ It’s gone so fast.

“When it was my first time, I was there doing yoga, learning to breathe, rubbing my belly. This time I go to work, come home, play with Forest, order dinner, go to bed.”

Jorgie says the family will be complete once her daughter arrives and then she can concentrate on planning her wedding.

She said: “I’m so happy. I feel like I’ve been pregnant since 2021 because of the miscarriages and then trying.

“I want to be able to fully enjoy the children. Alfie is nine, he’s amazing. Forest loves him very much. She will only pick him up when he cries.

“And I know Forest is going to be an amazing big brother too. He’s so cute. He’s been playing with all the dolls in nursery, he’s become quite a father figure.

“We have a lot to look forward to.”

Of her wedding, she said: “We’re not putting it off, but obviously there are babies involved and I couldn’t be a pregnant bride. I should be able to have a few wines at my wedding and dance the night away! And of course, Hen Two .Ollie wants three singles, so I’ll do three – they’ll take a while.

‘Very exciting’

“It will happen soon. We can’t leave it too long because Ollie is starting to think I don’t want to marry him.

“It’s like, ‘Are we ever going to get married?’

“Either it’s going to happen on a whim at the last minute and it’s all put together or maybe we’ll have time to plan it properly.”

Jorgie finished filming Hollyoaks on Friday and is now on maternity leave.

I can’t say too much, but my departure is very family-based (a few McQueens return), which is always very exciting

Bosses had to come up with a number of clever ways to hide her pregnancy bump, including dressing her up as a pumpkin for Halloween scenes.

While she’s keeping tight-lipped about her big exit storyline, Jorgie said it will involve some of her on-screen family returning.

She said: “I can’t say too much, but my departure is very much family-based – there are a few McQueens coming back, which is always very exciting.

“We’re filming Christmas at the moment – walking around town in heels and hiding the bump is hard.

“It’s quite funny how you trust your disguises, me with a big old belly going around. I will carry a large bag to hide the bump. I don’t even know if we’re going to get away with it with the viewers. I got dressed up as a pumpkin for Halloween, which was great fun and meant I didn’t have to hide my belly.”

Hollyoaks will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year and Jorgie can’t wait to mark the milestone.

She said: “I love working and I’m obsessed with Hollyoaks.

“We’ve done so much over the years and everything we’ve done recently, with the flash forward, well, it’s all been amazing.

“I’m really proud to be a part of the show and we’re going to have a big party to celebrate 30 years.”

  • Hollyoaks can be seen on Channel 4 from Monday to Wednesday at 7:00 and is broadcast live on E4 at 7:00 p.m.
