ZA Leak Reveals Scarlet and Violet Connection

A new Pokemon Legends: ZA leak has revealed a connection to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that some Pokemon fans didn’t expect. Despite not being well received by critics and dividing Pokemon fans on the Nintendo Switch, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are the best-selling games in Nintendo history and among the best-selling Pokemon games of all time. To that end, we suspect Gen 10, the next mainline Pokemon games, won’t stray too far from the Scarlet and Violet formula. Meanwhile, even the spin-off game Pokemon Legends: ZA will be similar in some ways.

Pokemon Legends: ZA, which may be released sooner rather than later, is a follow-up to 2022’s Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which changed the Pokemon formula in an attempt to attract new fans to the series, especially the core player audience, according to a Game Freak. To that end, Pokemon Legends: ZA will probably be more Pokemon Legends: Arceus with new features and ideas mixed in. That said, it looks like its art style will be similar to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

On social media platform X, well-known Pokemon leaker Riddler Khu recently posted a joke about Pokemon Legends: ZA. More specifically, the leaker posted the following: “Well, the Ikkaku art style looks like Titan.”

What does this mean? Well, Ikkaku is the codename of Pokemon Legends: ZA. Meanwhile, Titan was one of the two codenames of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Knowing this, mockery is much simpler.

All that said, remember to take what’s in here with a grain of salt. While the source in question is usually reliable, this is just a rumor/leak. In other words, this is not official news. What’s unclear is whether this information is based on internal sources or a look at the beginning of the game’s build that was allegedly obtained in the recent Game Freak Hack.

At the time of publication, neither Game Freak nor Nintendo have commented on this particular rumor. We don’t suspect that will change for a handful of reasons, but if it does, we’ll be sure to update the story accordingly.
