King Charles’ former butler has said there were two very ordinary chocolate bars he would often see in royal homes.

Although members of the royal family are not seen outside of public snacking on chocolate bars or crisps, that does not mean that such foods are not found behind the gates of the Palace.

Grant Harrold, who was the king’s butler from 2004 to 2011 when he was the Prince of Wales, exclusively told Express.co.uk what he saw in the wardrobes of certain palaces, including two chocolate bars that most people collect in their journals. food offers

He told Express.co.uk: “I always saw things like snickers bars and mart bars around. You’d never see the Queen with a snickers bar. Young people are like you and me. They wouldn’t have that sort of thing.” .

This comes after Grant revealed the exact type of food King Charles liked, including regular food and more unusual food options.

The former butler said: “The king wouldn’t say no to a hamburger, he wouldn’t say no to a beer. King Charles loves lamb, which is a very old thing.

“I remember that there used to be lamb dinners where people were invited and that was on the menu.

“He loves vegetables and has a garden at Highgrove. Vegetables are always on the menu.

“If he was going to have a snack, he’s not going to be sitting there eating a packet of crisps.”

Despite being Charles’ butler, Grant spent a lot of time with the king’s youngest son, Prince Harry, who said he loved takeaways.

He also said that the younger members of the family ate foods more similar to the diets of non-royals, but managed to stay slim thanks to active and busy lifestyles.

Grant said: “Harry was always very keen on takeaways.

“He loves his comfort food. They would have a lot of things that you and I would have.”
