The indictments handed down in three separate shooting cases

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Three people facing charges in separate shooting investigations were indicted by a Brazos County grand jury this week.

Kevin Henriquez was arrested following an officer-involved shooting incident in Bryan last month. He was charged with aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault of a public servant, both first-degree felony charges. The 23-year-old Houston man is accused of holding his girlfriend at gunpoint in a apartment complex on S. Ennis Street and then fired his gun at a Bryan police officer. The policeman returned fire, but no one was seriously injured. Henriquez remains in the Brazos County Detention Center with bail totaling $380,000.

Dequayna Johnson was arrested in the shooting death of another woman in August and charged with murder. The 22-year-old from Bryan turned police chaser the fatal shooting of Keianna Hines on Dansby Street. Bryan police said the two had a history of disputes over their relationship with the same man.

Jaylen Moseley was arrested last summer after the shooting death of a 17-year-old in College Station. The 18-year-old was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and remains in jail with bail set at $150,000. College Station police said Moseley shot and killed Richard Elijah Hilton at an apartment complex following a dispute which started through social media.

An indictment is handed down when a grand jury votes on whether there is enough evidence to formally charge the accused with a crime.

It is not a vote of guilt or innocence in a case.
