Ohio State Buckeyes’ Ryan Day reveals mindset after Oregon loss

The Ohio State Buckeyes return to Columbus after suffering a tough loss to the No. 2 Oregon Ducks in Week 7, looking to improve after the surprising road loss.

Head coach Ryan Day discussed the team’s loss to Oregon on Thursday’s edition of The Ryan Day Show, giving insight into what his team needed to do better in Saturday’s game at maximum audience

“But like I talked about before, in those games, you’ve got to win the turnover battle, and that’s No. 1. And then from there, you’ve got to be able to win the rushing yards. And the last thing is the plays Explosives. I think it really made a big difference, you have to stop and find a way to get that field goal at the end.

Day would also discuss what the team is doing this week to bounce back, stating that everyone is taking responsibility for the loss.

“Yeah, same thing. You know, they went in and came back after that. You know, I think that’s one thing about these guys here, there wasn’t a lot of finger pointing and there was a lot of responsibility there. , and it starts with the coaches, making sure they understand that we have to put them in a good situation, we have to line up and we have to play and I think that part was good at the beginning of the week.”

The loss to the Ducks, however, was not a “wake-up call” for the team, according to Day.

“That’s not a wake-up call at all. The guys have been going after it, we’ve been playing hard and doing those things, but we’ve got to find a way to win the game in the fourth quarter. And those are the things that” We’ve identified and we need to do a better job.”

Ohio State has time to adjust after the heartbreaking loss, as they find themselves on a much-needed bye in Week 8. The Buckeyes also suffered multiple injuries during the contest, so the week off will be perfect for the team to recover and prepare for the Week 9 Battle against Nebraska.
