Warren woman tells police she was shot in | News, Sports, Jobs

WARREN – A woman narrowly avoided injury Saturday morning when a man fired a gun at her during an argument at a gas station on West Market Street, according to police.

Warren officers responded to the scene around 3:45 a.m. after an officer in a nearby parking lot heard a gunshot and saw vehicles leaving the area.

The woman told police that a man known by the name of the street “Ted” had pointed a gun at her during an argument and fired a shot that hit her vehicle. She said the confrontation began when the man, described as wearing a black hoodie and multicolored pants, approached her at the Sunoco station, according to a Warren police report.

During the dispute, the man pointed a black handgun at her vehicle and fired into the hood.

After the shooting, the man continued to argue with her before leaving the scene in a white Ford sedan. Despite an immediate search, police were unable to locate the vehicle. Surveillance footage from the gas station corroborated the woman’s account, showing the suspect approaching her vehicle and firing, a police report said.

Officers recovered a 9mm shell casing at the scene, which was booked into evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
