Donald Trump stands on the border while Kamala Harris hurts and loses Latinos

Donald Trump aired his views on immigration and other issues Wednesday night at a Univision town hall in Miami, and (unlike his opponent) he refused to pander.

His approach seems to be working with Hispanic voters.

“We want workers and we want them to come in, but they have to come in legally,” the former president said. “They must love our country. They must love you, love our people. The problem with this administration is that they have completely lost control.”

Trump, in short, does not accept the persistent claim that all Latino voters want unlimited illegal immigration, or at least refuses to be wrong about one of his central issues.

But he admits that attractive patriotism work well with Hispanics.

His assessment of the case is almost 100% correct, by the way.

there should be zero illegal immigration.

And immigrants who come here legally do need to “love our country”, that is to say, to be willing to comply with its laws and social norms and to assimilate to its culture.

But it is not entirely true that the current administration has “lost control” over the border and migrant flows.

Joe Biden and Kamala Harris deliberately rendered control from Day 1 in office, when they dismantled Trump-era policies that contained illegals, to staunch applause from the progressive media.

The result?

Millions of migrants free to roam the country and no way to get an accurate count of the total number who managed to sneak in.

Social decay and crime in small border towns and big cities alike.

And there’s no end in sight to the problem, as long as the Democrats keep the White House.

Polling data suggests Trump’s approach is working.

In the latest Siena poll, for example, his support is at 37% among Latino likely voters, well behind Harris’s 56%, but Latino voters backed Biden by 62% in 2020, so that are moving away from the Democrats.

And with male Latinos, Trump is close behind, with 45% support to Harris’ 48%.

Harris BS open border is not proving the political panacea the left dreamed of. Trump has the right to stand his ground.

It is the only hope we have to end the catastrophe.
