The Powerball player just lost 9 million, but he’s still winning big in Washington

A Powerball ticket sold in Washington won $1 million but just missed the $409 million jackpot, lottery officials say.

The ticket matched five winning numbers but not the Powerball in the Wednesday, Oct. 16, drawing, the Washington Lottery said.

No one won the grand prize, which totals about $437 million, with a cash value of $210.3 million, for the next drawing on Saturday, Oct. 19, the national Powerball site said.

The winning numbers were 4, 30, 39, 44 and 60, with a Powerball of 11, the lottery said. The power play was 2.

Two tickets sold in Illinois and one in California also matched five winning numbers, but not the Powerball.

Nearly 635,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, according to the lottery.

The Powerball jackpot has not been claimed since Aug. 19, when a California player won the $44 million jackpot, lottery officials said.
