Will RFK Jr’s vow to ‘impregnate’ reporter spur Cheryl Hines divorce?

Will RFK Jr’s vow to ‘impregnate’ reporter spur Cheryl Hines divorce?

If Cheryl Hines hasn’t realized it yet, playing the role of loyal but loathed wife to a controversial spouse like Robert F. Kennedy Jr can only last for so long.

The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star already exhausted many people’s sympathy when she stood by her husband after he suspended his independent presidential campaign in August and endorsed the even more polarizing Donald Trump. Finally, it took Kennedy being involved in a “sexting” scandal with political reporter Olivia Nuzzi in September to spur reports that Hines was considering divorce.

Now the Kennedy cheating scandal has gotten even more sordid, with Nuzzi’s ex-fiancé alleging in court documents that the 70-year-old anti-vaccine activist vowed to “possess” and “impregnate” Nuzzi , 39 years younger than him, for almost a year. -Long affair, according to the Daily Beast.

Political reporter Ryan Lizza wrote in a court filing on Oct. 14 that he learned of Nuzzi’s relationship with Kennedy in mid-August, the Daily Beast reported. After Nuzzi admitted to New York magazine editors that she had a “personal relationship” with Kennedy while covering the 2024 presidential race, she was suspended from her job as the magazine’s Washington, DC correspondent.

“She admitted the affair and over weeks of conversations confided how she fell into what she described as a ‘toxic,’ ‘unhealthy,’ ‘stupid,’ ‘psychotic,’ ‘crazy,’ ‘indefensible’ relationship with a 70-year-old ‘Sex Addict’ who told her he wanted to ‘own’ her, ‘control her’ and ‘impregnate her,’” Lizza wrote, according to the Daily Beast.

News of Lizza’s court filing came a day after Hines, 59, surprised some by making “a show of unity” as she and her battered husband attended the funeral of her mother, Ethel Kennedy. As the New York Post reported, Robert F. Kennedy’s widow died last week at age 96 after suffering a stroke and was the “last link to the Kennedy family’s ‘Camelot'” days in the House white

As the “gloomy church bells” tolled outside a church near the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Mass., Ethel Kennedy’s second son was seen holding hands with his TV star wife, “amid reports of trouble in her marriage” over her support for Trump and claims about her affair with Nuzzi, the Post continued.

In some ways, it’s understandable that Hines would want to make “a show of unity” as her husband and family grieve the loss of their beloved matriarch. Hines also paid tribute to his late mother-in-law on social media last week. In a Facebook post, which drew many sympathetic responses, Hines wrote: “Bobby and I spent many warm evenings in Hyannis Port eating dinner with her and hearing stories of her extraordinary life. She always made me laugh.”

In a second Facebook post, Hines shared a video of her sitting with Ethel Kennedy the night singer Melissa Etheridge visited Hyannis Port and sang “Me and Bobby McGee” to them.

But in that second post, several people didn’t express their condolences but rather commented on the state of her marriage to Kennedy amid his sexting scandal. Earlier this month, Mediaite reported that three other women, who are affiliated with Kennedy’s anti-vaccine organization, claimed they also had affairs with the former environmental lawyer in the past year.

“Leave your husband,” one person said. “Don’t follow the tradition of the Kennedy wives who put up with their husbands’ infidelities. You are stronger!!!!!”

Commentators also denounced Hines for political reasons, specifically her decision to stand by a husband who “basically supports America’s Hitler.” This person continued: “There is no veil you can hide behind. You support it, married to him – you are guilty.”

“You don’t even understand why you don’t like me so much now Cheryl,” another person wrote. “You will be remembered for being on the wrong side of history because of your choice of partner.”

Earlier this month, Page Six reported that Hines, a lifelong Democrat, had become increasingly concerned about being “on the wrong side of history.” The source told Page Six that Hines knew her husband was a “serial philanderer” when she married him and was considering leaving him because of his support for Trump and his new place in the inner circle of Trump’s MAGA universe.

But other reports say Kennedy’s “strange” relationship with Nuzzi had finally gotten to Hines, with Nuzzi even saying the relationship never became “physical.”

According to Jerry Oppenheimer, author of the 2015 book, “RFK Jr.: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the Dark Side of the Dream,” the Nuzzi scandal made it clear to Hines that her husband has not brought the his “sexual demons”. ” under control as promised.

In a Daily Mail column, Oppenheimer quoted a confidante as saying that Hines, Kennedy’s third wife, was “blindsided” by news of her “personal relationship” with Nuzzi.

“Cheryl was always very aware that Bobby had a long history with women,” the friend told Oppenheimer. “She herself had been very publicly involved with him when he was still married to his second wife, so gambling was nothing new to her.”

“However, she firmly believed that Bobby, in his seventh decade and with political aspirations, finally had his sexual demons under control and seemed settled in his seemingly bucolic Southern California home life,” the friend continued. .

“She loved being a member of the American royal family and having the famous Kennedy name attached to hers, but now she is completely embarrassed and furious about her adulterous actions and (friends) think she wants out,” said friend to Oppenheimer.

Meanwhile, Kennedy’s sexting scandal with Nuzzi has become even more complicated and messy due to his bitter and litigious breakup with Lizza.

In early October, Nuzzi went to court in Washington, DC, seeking a restraining order against Lizza, accusing him of stalking and blackmailing her. In his request for a no-contact order, Nuzzi alleged that Lizza’s “campaign of harassment and blackmail” culminated in news of her relationship with Kennedy becoming public, a revelation that could “destroy” his “life, career and reputation”.

Lizza has denied the blackmail allegations in her court filing and said she did not alert editors at New York magazine or leak news of the affair to the media, the Daily Beast said. Meanwhile, his response includes more salacious details about Nuzzi’s relationship with Kennedy.

“He told me there was a huge power disparity between them and that he was manipulating her,” Lizza said, according to the Daily Beast. Lizza said she discovered the affair on Aug. 17, two days before the start of the Democratic National Convention, at which point she asked Nuzzi to move out of her home.

Lizza said Nuzzi spent the next several weeks trying to convince him to stay with her, according to the Daily Beast. She said he “begged me to consider getting back into the relationship, telling me that ‘his affair wasn’t real’ and that I ‘don’t want to give up’ on our relationship.”

According to the Daily Beast, Lizza’s claims contradict the narrative Nuzzi has told: that Lizza tried to blackmail her into staying with him.

Meanwhile, the ex-couple’s legal battle is likely to continue past Election Day, as the D.C. court granted Nuzzi a one-month extension to his restraining order. With this ongoing feud, further revelations about Kennedy are possible, which could continue to be uncomfortable for his beleaguered wife.

Again, Oppenheimer, who attended the couple’s 2014 wedding, has written that Hines should have known what he was getting into. “Any woman who gets involved with Bobby is doing so with their eyes wide open or their brains cut off. Any woman who thinks she’s going to change Bobby is wrong and willfully ignorant,” she wrote.
