Former President Trump took aim at CBS News over the ongoing controversy over “60 Minutes” editing comments made by Vice President Kamala Harris for its prime-time election special.

“Giant fake news scam by CBS and 60 Minutes,” Trump wrote on Truth Social on Thursday. “HER ACTUAL ANSWER WAS CRAZY, OR STUPID, SO THEY REPLACED IT WITH ANOTHER ANSWER TO SAVE IT OR AT LEAST MAKE IT LOOK BETTER. A FAKE NEWS SCAM, which is totally illegal” .

Harris Campaign Walks Away From ’60 Minutes’ Edit: ‘We Don’t Control CBS Production Decisions’

FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel issued a statement denouncing Trump’s call to revoke CBS’ broadcast license.

“While the repeated attacks on the former president’s broadcasters may now be familiar, these threats to free speech are serious and should not be ignored,” Rosenworcel wrote. “As I’ve said before, the First Amendment is a cornerstone of our democracy. The FCC will not revoke or revoke broadcasters’ licenses simply because a political candidate disagrees with or doesn’t like the content or coverage.”

CBS News did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

The Harris campaign insists it had nothing to do with the edit, with an aide telling Fox News Digital, “We don’t control CBS’s production decisions and we ask questions of CBS.”
