Rachel Bilson Reacts to Ex Adam Brody’s ‘Hot Rabbi’ Status ‘Nobody Wants That’

Netflix’s hottest new series “Nobody Wants This” has racked up more than 26 million viewers since its Sept. 26 launch, but Rachel Bilson isn’t one of them.

Bilson, 43, told People that while she hasn’t sat down to watch the new show, she’s happy about its success.

“I feel like everyone loves it and I couldn’t be more excited, because Kristen (Bell) and Adam (Brody) literally love me and they’re like my people,” she said of the rom-com series. “So I’m really excited and excited for them.”

Bilson and Brody, 44, dated while playing TV couple Summer Roberts and Seth Cohen on the teen show “The OC,” which aired from 2003-2007.

After the couple split in 2006, Bilson dated actor Hayden Christensen for 10 years; the exes share a daughter, 9-year-old Briar. Bilson and Christensen broke up in 2017. She dated actor and comedian Bill Hader, but it was short-lived.

Brody married Leighton Meester in 2014 and the couple share two children together.

Although the former couple never got back together on screen, they have interacted with each other over the years since their breakup in the early 2000s.

Bilson and Brody bumped into each other in 2019 at New York’s JFK airport and took a selfie. Both were headed for California. In 2021, Brody was invited to “Welcome to the OC, Bitches!” from Bilson. with former co-star Melinda Clarke.

Even though it’s been more than two decades since the popular Fox series aired, Brody has once again reclaimed his status as a star in what People calls the “Adam Brody Revival.”

“I feel like it’s always been there,” Bilson told People at a SimpliSafe launch event. “But if so, it is well deserved.”

Brody, who played Seth, and Bilson, who played Summer, bask in the warm glow of the holidays in “The OC” episode “The Chrismukkah That Almost Wasn’t.”

Bilson went on to say that she would be ecstatic if the show sparked a larger romantic comedy revival.

“I’m a big rom-com person myself, so yeah, I’d jump at the chance, just because I’m such a movie nerd with anything romantic,” Bilson said.

Viewers have been going crazy over the chemistry between Bell (Joanne) and Brody (“Hot Rabbi” Noah) on the show, thanks in part to their steamy kiss.

Brody said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” that the chemistry between him and Bell worked so well because they know each other.

“I think there’s a little bit of trust, there’s a little bit of familiarity,” Brody said.

Bell, 44, said during an interview with eTalk that he can recognize while watching the show that it was hot.

“My husband (Dax Shepard) said the same thing. Like, watching the first episode, he was like, ‘Oh my God, I want you to kiss him so bad,'” the “Frozen” actress said.

“I’m not trying to be reductive, but I think there is a math. You have two actors who know how to look each other in the eye, and you have to have the confidence to expand on that and really build the anticipation value before the kiss, which I think is really important,” he continued.

The final episode of “Nobody Wants This” ended with a bang as Netflix just renewed the series for a 2nd season.

The confirmation was announced at the Bloomberg Screentime conference in LA by Netflix chief content officer Bela Bajaria last week.

Creating “Nobody Wants This” will forever be a highlight of my career. The incredible cast, crew, producers and executives made this the show it is today, and experiencing the reactions of viewers to this series now that it’s out in the world has been more than anything I could have dreamed of.” said show creator Erin Foster, whose love life is the inspiration for the series.

Jenni Konner and Kaplan will join the show for Season 2 as executive producers and showrunners. Nora Silver will also executive produce for the upcoming season.

Foster told the Hollywood Reporter, “Kristen came into the room with Justine (Lupe, who plays Morgan) to hear some stories we were working on. And she says she hasn’t gotten a reaction to anything like this since literally from ‘Frozen'”.

The 10-episode romantic comedy series is currently streaming on Netflix.
