Oviya Helen’s police complaint names person behind fake video leak: Report- The Week

Actor Oviya Helen on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the Chennai police against the circulation of fake videos on social media that the alleged perpetrators claimed were his “leaked private” scenes.

The fake videos were created and widely circulated on X (formerly Twitter) intentionally to insult Oviya, the actor’s manager told the press while confirming his decision to take legal action against her.

According to a Times Of India (TOI) report, Oviya’s complaint named one Thariq, someone she used to be friends with. The Kerala native actor distanced himself from him when his behavior became unacceptable. According to the news, the complaint claimed that Thariq orchestrated the leaking of morphed videos of Oviya online in an act of revenge. Thariq also has several morphed videos and images of other women, the actor reports in his complaint.

The Big Boss fame has not issued an official statement regarding the developments. However, she had previously bravely responded to cyberbullies who popped up with snide and mocking comments on Instagram.

Controversy ‘Oviya Helen MMS leak’

Born in Thrissur of Kerala, 33-year-old Oviya is a household name in South Indian cinema. She began her acting career playing supporting roles kangaroo (2007) and Puthiya Mukham (2009), both starring Prithviraj.

The alleged video surfaced on the X platform on Saturday morning, with users claiming that the woman seen in a compromising position in the clip has a shoulder tattoo similar to Oviya’s. However, others have claimed that it is a deepfake. THE WEEK has not been able to independently verify the authenticity of the video.
