A spokesman for Prince William said “racism has no place in our society”.

A “strategy and action plan” for inclusion and diversity was initiated shortly afterwards for staff and members of the royal family.

One course was called ‘unconscious bias training’ and another ‘diversity in the workplace’.

The palace has set a target of having 14% ethnic minority staff by 2025.

A royal source said: “Eva has been a much-loved part of the King’s team for over 17 years.

“She is taking up an exciting new opportunity outside the household, but will continue to advise the King on matters of community involvement.”

Buckingham Palace declined to comment.
