Pirates offer a bleak update on Olisa Ndah ahead of the Magesi clash

The Pirates medical department provided updates on other injured players.

Olisa Ndah is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after Orlando Pirates confirmed the defender has suffered a fractured tibia and has been ruled out for the rest of the year.

In a statement issued by Pirates on Wednesday, the club announced that Ndah, who did not play in the MTN8 final after sustaining the injury in the league match against Polokwane City, is expected to be sidelined for a long period

“The Bucs medical department has confirmed that the 26-year-old has suffered a fractured tibia,” the club’s statement read.

“Due to the location and nature of the injury; The surgery decision is not an easy one, but based on this type of injury, Ndah has been ruled out for the rest of the year.”

In addition to Ndah’s injury, the Pirates medical department has provided an update on other injured players.

Talent Mbatha

He continues to rehabilitate from the injury he suffered in the Pirates’ 3-1 win over Stellenbosch FC in the MTN8. The Bucs’ medical team will continue to monitor his progress this week before clearing him to return to full training.

Bandile Shandu

Full training with the team has begun. He has also started playing 35 minutes in friendly matches. This load will increase every week until you reach 90 minutes without feeling any discomfort.

Tapelo Xoki

He has been cleared to return to full training, focusing on agility drills before being able to take part in friendlies.

Goodman Moselle

It is currently in an intermediate rehabilitation phase. He has taken up running and the team has slowly introduced weight training

Zakhele Lepasa

Like Mosele, Lepasa is also in an intermediate phase of rehabilitation. He has started running on the field and strength training.

Thabiso Lebitso

He has started running as part of his progression. Plyometric training is scheduled to begin next week.
Continue with external biokinetic training to improve strength in hamstrings and quadriceps.

Sandile Mthethwa

Holding an abdominal muscle tension during training. Attend rehab sessions with a visceral therapist who treats these types of injuries.

Ethan Visagie

He sprained his right ankle during training. Post-orthopedic consultation; Conservative treatment was suggested as a strategy for his recovery.
