Early voting in Ontario County continues to see high turnout ahead of the general

As Election Day approaches, Ontario County continues to see high engagement in early voting and returning mail-in ballots, according to data from the Ontario County Board of Elections.

As of 8 p.m. on November 1, a total of 14,113 residents had cast their ballots at the county’s three early voting locations in Canandaigua, Geneva and Victor. Daily turnout varied between 1,778 and 2,502 voters, with the highest turnout recorded on October 26, the first day of early voting.

Postal voting also attracted strong participation, with 4,376 ballots returned out of 5,863 issued to voters. Of those, 1,851 were filed by Democratic and Working Families Party affiliates, 1,411 by Republican and conservative affiliates, and 1,114 by unaffiliated or minor-party voters. In addition, 167 ballots were returned from overseas military and federal voters.

Ontario County has 78,655 active registered voters and 7,362 inactive voters eligible to participate. Voters who cannot participate in early voting still have the opportunity to vote on election day in any of the 44 polling stations in the county’s 92 electoral districts.

All data remains unofficial and subject to final updates by the Electoral Council.
