Two Memphis fugitives arrested in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Two fugitives from Memphis were arrested in Nashville Friday night, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

“Through several hours of surveillance, detectives were able to corroborate information from the Memphis Police Department that the men were here,” MNPD said.

Police said Kaimon Carwell, 23, and Marvin Roper, 20, traveled to a “short-term rental” property on Fitzgerald Drive in the Donelson area.

When police went to the rental, Carwell surrendered after MNPD gave orders. Roper was found hiding in the attic, police said.

Carwell and Roper were wanted in Memphis on multiple charges. These fees include:

Carwell: attempted first-degree murder, possession of a weapon with intent to commit a felony, reckless endangerment, aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, theft and drug possession.

Roper: evading arrest, possession of a prohibited weapon, felony theft, vehicle theft, gun theft, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, vandalism, larceny, attempt to evade death and extortion.
