1 arrested after high-speed chase in Potter County

POTTER COUNTY, Texas (KFDA) – Texas DPS officials say one person is in custody after a high speed car chase in Potter County.

DPS officials say the pursuit began Friday around 5:30 p.m.

A DPS trooper tried to stop Jose Ayala-Hernandez, 40, of El Salvador. He was driving a Dodge pickup on northbound US 87.

The pursuit briefly entered Moore County before officials say Ayala-Hernandez turned and drove into Potter County.

Potter County deputies then assisted DPS officials in the pursuit.

DPS officials say the suspect was in custody around 6:15 p.m

Officials say Ayala-Hernandez will be charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle and booked into the Potter County Jail.
