The INSS expert reveals the impact of the removal of the IRGC commander

Who spoke to Benny Sabti, Iran researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS). Maariv Tuesday on the significance of the assassination of Abbas Nilforoushan, deputy commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and commander of the Quds Force in Lebanon, who was killed along with Hassan Nasrallah in Dahieh, Beirut.

Sabti began by saying, “This man was the head of operations for the Revolutionary Guard, and many missions, supplies, and budgets passed through his hands. The man was primarily responsible for everything that concerned us, approving budgets and transferring arms to Syria and Lebanon, and indeed to sustain all the activities of Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations that operate primarily through connections to Syria.”

Sabti noted that Nilforoushan “has known the system for many years. It’s not that he suddenly appeared like this, but the media usually feels when something happens.”

“He was one of the extremists. He was 14 years old when the revolution happened in Iran and at that age he enlisted in the Iran-Iraq war. He came from an extreme place and a very extreme city. The background in Iran is very important when you grow up in an extreme environment, so you follow your path”, he added.

Regarding Nilforoushan’s activities, Sabti said: “In recent years, in his role as head of operations, he contributed to Hezbollah’s anti-Israeli activities by dealing with approvals. He was essentially involved in everything that happened in the Revolutionary Guard”.

It will take time to replace Nilforoushan

“Iranians are very resourceful,” Sabti explained, “a person with resources and very veterans is very important in Iran, like Soleimani, a person who knows how to do an operation with three phone calls that even thirty others would not do . manage to do it.”

“The importance of the assassination is a very hard blow both for the Revolutionary Guard and for the entire Iranian axis, with their proxies. The seniority, the experience, the opening of doors, the ingenuity and the quick approvals from the top ranks.all of this will be missed by They always say in the media, ‘remove one and another will come’, it won’t be so, it will be a long time before they find someone to fill their shoes .Sabti emphasized.

“I think that, for the first time, we have hit all the Revolutionary Guards. It is something that no one has said,” he concluded.
