Diddy Homeland Security “Leak” Defense Shot Down by Govt

Attorney Marc Agnifilo accused Homeland Security of leaking a video of his client Diddy abusing Cassie Ventura on CNN. The government denied anything to do with the leak of emails obtained by AllHipHop.

“The government did not possess the video released by CNN prior to its public release, and the government did not have any surveillance video from the Intercontinental prior to CNN’s public release,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Agnifilo wrote to Agnifilo. Emily Johnson. “Accordingly, we wish to inform you that we believe that any assertion in your motion regarding an alleged government leak related to the Intercontinental surveillance video lacks a bona fide basis.”

Agnifilo responded: “I don’t think you can tell what DHS agents did and didn’t do in relation to this videotape. We’re making it very clear that we believe the US Attorney’s office was not involved in the leak .However, I don’t feel the same with the DHS… We took it as a gesture of good faith and because we really want to know your perspective. That said, although you can speak from a position of knowledge for what you do in your office, I don’t think you can do it agency-wise.

Homeland security raided Diddy’s homes in March. CNN released surveillance footage from 2016 of Diddy attacking his ex-girlfriend at a hotel in May. The video corroborated the allegations in Ventura’s 2023 lawsuit against the Hip-Hop mogul.

“To be clear, in our understanding, DHS did not have possession of the videotape prior to CNN’s release,” Johnson told Diddy’s attorney. “Only the government has authority to obtain grand jury material, and the video aired by CNN was not obtained through the grand jury process.”

Diddy was arrested in September for sex trafficking, extortion conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He was refused bail for the third time on Thursday (October 9). His trial is scheduled to begin on May 5, 2025.
