The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returns to New York City on Tuesday night after a five-year hiatus.

The annual runway show, which debuted in 1995, was canceled in 2019 amid a series of scandals and backlash from critics who criticized the underwear brand for lacking diversity and inclusion.

Edward Razek, the former chief marketing officer of Victoria’s Secret’s former parent company L Brands, who stepped down in 2019, sparked controversy in a Vogue interview when he rejected ideas of integrating inclusivity into the spectacular catwalk “because the show is a fantasy”.

He was later accused of harassment and perpetuating a “culture of misogyny, bullying and harassment” at the company.

In May, Victoria’s Secret announced that the show was returning and would “reflect who we are today.”

“We’ve read the feedback and heard you,” the brand said, adding that the 2024 show will include “glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment and more!”

The show will take place at the Victoria’s Secret flagship store in New York on Tuesday, October 15.

It airs at 7pm ET on Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Live, as well as the brand’s YouTube, Instagram and TikTok pages.

The pink carpet pre-show, hosted by Tefi Pessoa and Olivia Culpo, begins at 6:30 PM ET.

Victoria’s Secret is also hosting a watch party in Penn District for fans.

Lima, 43, has been in the most VS fashion shows of any other model, with a total of 19 appearances before tonight’s show.

The Brazilian model, who retired from Victoria’s Secret in 2018, confirmed her return to the runway in an Instagram video, where she gets into a taxi and tells the driver: “I’m going home.”

Heidi Klum is not expected to attend the event this year.

Who is performing at the Secret Fashion Show 2024?

Cher is the star of the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

“It’s a woman’s world, so it goes without saying that you can’t have a fashion show without the mother of fashion: @Cher!” the brand wrote on Instagram in September. “We are very excited to announce that she will officially perform at the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on October 15.”

K-pop star Lisa and singer Tyla are also performing at this year’s show.

“Growing up, I was captivated by the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show: the stunning gowns, iconic wings and charismatic models,” Tyla, 22, said in a statement last month.

“Now, I am delighted to perform on this nostalgic and legendary stage. What’s even more exciting is the celebration of diversity, showcasing a wider range of beauty, which makes this moment truly special,” she added.
