Leverett carbon monoxide leak sends 4 people to hospital

LEVERETT, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – The Leverett Fire Department responded to a carbon monoxide leak at a home on Amherst Road Wednesday night.

According to officials, crews arrived at the home around 9 p.m. after four residents called 911 saying they were nauseous and had flu-like symptoms that progressed overnight.

Residents were evacuated from the home, and after using a multiple gas meter, crews found high levels of carbon monoxide.

All four residents were taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
